I may only have been 13 when I started reading the Fruit's Basket manga, but Ayame was instantly one of my favorite characters (and not just because Snakes are one of the best matches for Roosters in relationships). I could relate on a personal level, being an older sibling myself, and from a young age, men with long hair and earrings have always been attractive to me.
