PW - I love burgers

My entry for MT Knockout round 2. I still can't believe I won >__<

The theme was "I love you". I didn't want to just make it guy x girl wall, 'cause I thought that's what the judges expect. Maya is always talking about burgers and how much she loves them (she says she has a separate stomach for them XD), so I thought, why not make a Maya x Burger (my OTCP atm XD) wall!

I used this scan and modified the girl into Maya using many reference pics. The arms took me forever, and in the final product you can't even see it (covered by the fries)... *sigh*

Phoenix at the back came from this scan, he was thrown in there for lulz, and his expression is hilarious XD Poor Phoenix, she loves burgers more than you.

I tried something different for the shading this time. I called this "Professor Layton shading", haha. I can't cellshade, and wanted to keep it kinda cartoony, so I didn't want to paint it either. So instead, I shaded everything with gradients. Turned out okay I think. Everything in this is vectored, including the bubbles; I had thought of blurring them, but then decided against it to keep it sharp to match everything else.

At first I was gonna do a proper background setting it in Phoenix's office, but then I got lazy, and didn't want to make it too busy anyway. Somehow I got the idea for shoujo bubbles to show her pure bliss XD
