Portrait of Elizabeth I of England at 13, based on portrait by William Scrots c.1546.
I did this portrait of her because I love Tudor history, and Queen Elizabeth I is my idol. I admire her for the fact that she was an intelligent and shrewd woman who ruled her country beyond anyone's expectations, and was able to create a period of peace and prosperity. She showed that women can achieve greatness if given a chance. (yes, I'm somewhat of a feminist)
I love the original portrait in colour, the dress is so pretty. As you can see, I omitted a lot of details like the patterning on her dress because it was too much of a pain to do, and I liked it without the pattern; those pieces on the sleeve I didn't like, so I took those out. I kinda changed the eyes to my style as well. I didn't do a background because one, it was a pain to do, and two, I despise backgrounds.
